ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Research experience

  • As part of the SUMMER RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME(SRFP)-2014 of the Indian Academy of Science (IASc)  undertook a 2 month project entitled “Study of species coexistence by niche partitioning using Drosophila as the ecological system” under Dr Krushnamegh Kunte (Biodiversity Lab), National Centre for Biological Science(NCBS), Bangalore.
  • As part of the SRFP-2015 of IASc, undertook a 2 month project entitled “Alcohol-induced molecular changes in mouse brain: Role of NAD+ dependent Histone deacetylases (Sirtuins)” under Dr Arvind Kumar, Epigenetics and Neuropsychiatric Disease Laboratory at Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology(CCMB), Hyderabad.
  • Carried out an MSc. Dissertation work on the topic “Anti-proliferative effect of Datura inoxia root extract on Rat glioma C6 Cell line” at the Department of Zoology, University of Madras.

Technical knowhow

  • Experience in working at various cell and molecular biology labs. – DNA & mRNA isolation, cDNA preparation, Agarose Gel electrophoresis, Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis, PCR amplification, SEM, TEM– Fluorescence Assisted Cell Sorter (FACS).
