Research experience
- As part of the SUMMER RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME(SRFP)-2014 of the Indian Academy of Science (IASc) undertook a 2 month project entitled “Study of species coexistence by niche partitioning using Drosophila as the ecological system” under Dr Krushnamegh Kunte (Biodiversity Lab), National Centre for Biological Science(NCBS), Bangalore.
- As part of the SRFP-2015 of IASc, undertook a 2 month project entitled “Alcohol-induced molecular changes in mouse brain: Role of NAD+ dependent Histone deacetylases (Sirtuins)” under Dr Arvind Kumar, Epigenetics and Neuropsychiatric Disease Laboratory at Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology(CCMB), Hyderabad.
- Carried out an MSc. Dissertation work on the topic “Anti-proliferative effect of Datura inoxia root extract on Rat glioma C6 Cell line” at the Department of Zoology, University of Madras.
Technical knowhow
- Experience in working at various cell and molecular biology labs. – DNA & mRNA isolation, cDNA preparation, Agarose Gel electrophoresis, Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis, PCR amplification, SEM, TEM– Fluorescence Assisted Cell Sorter (FACS).
- Histology & Histochemistry.
- Experience in handling Fluorescent Microscope,
- Handling different instruments and microscopes of Zoology laboratory.
Training
- Successfully completed Internship Training Programme in Cattle Farming and Management Conducted at Central Cattle Breeding Farm(CCBF),Chennai.
- Participated in the Hands on Training on Value Added Products Conducted by Department of Advanced Zoology & Biotechnology, Loyola College-Chennai, in collaboration with Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University(TANUVAS),Chennai.
