The college is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam and comes under the category of aided colleges managed by forward community. The admission procedure is governed by the rules and regulations of Mahatma Gandhi University and the government of Kerala. Seats of various programmes offered by the college are mainly classified as Open Quota seats, Mandatory and Special Reservation seats, Community seats and Management seats.

Open Quota seats

All prospective students of U.G. programmes of the college should apply for Merit Seats. Admission to Merit Seats are done through the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP) of Mahatma Gandhi University. Interested students should submit their applications through CAP of the university. For detailed procedures and instructions, www.cap.mgu.ac.in can be used.

Mandatory and Special Reservation Seats
Admission to the Sports Quota- exclusively for candidates with outstanding records in Sports & Games, Cultural Quota – exclusively for students who excel in Youth festival recognised by Director of Public Instruction (DPI), Persons with disabilities- exclusively for students suffering from not less than 40% of any disability as certified by a Medical Board constituted for this purpose, is done as per the conditions laid down by the university. For more information one may refer to the Prospectus published by the Mahatma Gandhi University. Candidates should apply through CAP to be considered for admission under this category. Admission to these seats will be conducted in the beginning stages of CAP and candidates should refer to the university website regarding dates for application.
Students applying for the reserved seats SC/ST/OBC/Ezhava/Muslim/ OBX/OEC/Latin Catholics other than Anglo Indians etc. need to apply only through CAP (cap.mgu.ac.in).

Community seats
10% seats in the aided programmes are earmarked for candidates from Knanaya Catholic Community and is based on merit. These seats are not available in Self-Financing programmes.  The application forms to be submitted at the college can be obtained from the College office or candidates may use downloaded application available here after remitting the prescribed fees online. Please note that candidates seeking admission in Community Merit should submit application at the college office and at the university admission portal. The application to the college office should include the testimony from Parish Priest and copy of certificates to prove the age and marks obtained in plus two or other equivalent examinations.

Management seats
20% seats in the aided programmes and 50% seats in the self-financing programmes come under this category. Applicants for these seats should submit their applications in the college office directly or by post in addition to applying in the university admission portal. The application forms to be submitted at the college can be obtained from the College office or candidates may use downloaded application available here after remitting the prescribed fees online. The application to the college office should include copy of certificates to prove the age and marks obtained in plus two or other equivalent examinations.

Application Procedure

1. Community Quota Seats

i. Candidates applying for Community Quota seats may use the application form which can be obtained from college office directly or the downloaded application form. Those who are using the downloaded application should remit the fees online.

ii. Application to the college office, shall be submitted directly or through post, should include the testimony from Parish Priest and copy of certificates to prove the age and marks obtained in Plus two or other equivalent examinations.

iii. Candidates should apply through CAP as well.

2. Management Quota Seats

i. Candidates applying for Management Quota seats may use the application form which can be obtained from college office directly or the downloaded application form. Those who are using the downloaded application should remit the fees online.

ii. Separate application forms should be used for aided and self-financing programmes. Candidates can use the same application form for applying to aided programmes.  However, separate application forms must be used for each self-financing programmes.

iii.Application to the college office, shall be submitted directly or through post. It should include copy of certificates to prove the age and marks obtained in Plus two or other equivalent examinations.

iv.Candidates should apply through CAP as well.

 

 3. Open Quota seats, Mandatory and Special Reservation Seats

Candidates need to apply through CAP only (cap.mgu.ac.in).

Admission Procedure

(Admission procedure of the college after CAP)

                              The candidates who wish to avail PERMANENT ADMISSION  to UG programmes in Bishop Chulaparambil Memorial College (BCM) after the allotment processes by the university should produce the following documents at the time of admission itself

1. The Allotment Memo received online.
2. Certificate to prove date of birth. (2 copies)
3. Transfer Certificate (TC) from the Institution last attended and Conduct Certificate. (Original)
4. Mark lists of all parts of the Plus Two / equivalent examination. (Original and Copy)
5. Eligibility Certificate from Mahatma Gandhi University, in the case of candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from other Boards/Institutes/governments, except BOARD OF HIGHER SECONDARY EDUCATION Kerala, VHSE Kerala, THSE Kerala, CBSE and CISCE
6. Migration Certificate, if applicable.
7. Caste certificate in the case of SC/ST candidates. Any other documents required to be produced by the Head of Institution.
8. Community Certificate along with non-creamy layer certificate(as per Government rules) from the revenue authorities concerned in the case of SEBC candidates who claim reservation under SEBC category. The non-cramy layer certificate should not have been issued earlier than 12 months prior to the submission of application.
9. Income and Asset Certificate from the revenue authorities concerned as stipulated in GO (MS)No. 128/2020/H Edn dated 20/03/2020 in the case of candidates who wish to avail of reservation under EWS.
10.Candidates who wish to avail of bonus/weightage of marks shall produce the relevant certificates.
11.A copy of Aadhar card.
12. Two Passport Size Photos
13. A copy of Bank Passbook (If Eligible for E-Grant)

However, candidates who wish to avail temporary admission are exempted from reporting to the colleges physically. Instead, they should contact the colleges to which they are allotted and wish to secure temporary admission after remitting the requisite fee due to University and confirming temporary admission. Those who wish to take temporary admission may do so by availing the option provided in the online application after remitting the requisite fee due to University
