Bishop Chulaparambil Memorial College (BCM College) One of the first colleges for women in Kerala, situated at the heart of Kottayam, was founded in 1955 with the objective of empowering and liberating the women through education. Spread over a total of 2.57 hectares (6.35 acres) surface area and a built-up area of 17198.05 square meters in a single compact campus, it fosters family atmosphere and smooth management. The college functions in five buildings: Main Block, Auditorium and Library Block, UGC Hostel, new building and the hostel block. Administrative wing functions in the Main Block.

When the great visionaries of the Knanaya Community envisioned the growth of the community and thereby contributed to the development of the society, this was the thought which inspired them. Motivated by this in 1931, the Management of the College started the St. Anne’s School exclusively for women education at Kottayam.
