BCM College established in 1955 is one of premier institutions for higher education, affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala accredited with ‘A’ grade by NAAC. The department of Social Work has been functioning in the college since 2002.
This conference titled Samanwaya (means blend of all) started in 2003 has been a platform for social workers, other professionals and social work students to come together and share their views on different issues for the benefits of the society and development of the profession.
We are extremely happy to invite you for 17th edition of Samanwaya, the International Conference and Social Work Students’ meet on 24-25 Jan 2020. The main theme of 17th Samanwaya is “Child Abuse: A Revisit to Family Problematique and Interventions”. The programme is being organized in association with Kadambari College of Social Work, Kathmandu, Nepal, KAPS, ASSK and Child line.
Children are the assets of our society who needs proper care and protection during their developmental years. Even after the initiatives by government and other agencies, the child abuse continues as a serious threat in our society.
This year Samanwaya, the International conference has selected this particular theme with the aim to share knowledge that the practitioners and researchers have, and also to motivate the budding social workers to think about it and develop a model for child friendly environment. Samanwaya will have sessions on the main theme, panel presentations by experts on the topic and paper presentations. Samanwaya conference series is specially focusing on the issues related to children since year 2008.
Samanwaya 2020 will have theme based innovative competitive events also, that will equip and sharpen professional abilities of our budding social workers to work in the field. We request the support and participation of faculty members and students of your institution in the program.
