A transformative three-day workshop led by renowned speaker Tom Jose on December 4th, 5th, and 6th. This engaging program focuses on the importance of acquiring additional skills through the Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP). Participants will gain valuable insights and practical strategies to enhance their skill sets, empowering them to excel in today’s dynamic professional landscape.

TechByHeart hosted a Cyberbullying & Ethical Hacking Workshop on July 12, 2023, led by experts Mr.Dhanoop R and Mr.Dhaneesh Krishna. The event provided valuable insights into combating cyberbullying while also delving into the ethical aspects of hacking. Participants gained practical knowledge and skills to navigate the digital world responsibly and securely.

Mrs. Anju Cherian, HOD of Food Science and Quality Control, conducted an insightful workshop on interview do’s and don’ts, along with resume writing strategies. With her wealth of experience in the field, Mrs. Cherian provided invaluable guidance on crafting compelling resumes and navigating the intricacies of job interviews. Participants gained practical insights into tailoring resumes to highlight their strengths and effectively communicating their qualifications. Mrs. Cherian’s comprehensive session not only equipped attendees with the tools to enhance their job application materials but also empowered them to confidently approach future interviews.

EVENTS 

On June 5th, World Environment Day, our community took a proactive step towards reducing plastic pollution by distributing paper bags to local shopkeepers. This initiative aimed to encourage eco-friendly practices and raise awareness about the importance of reducing single-use plastics. By providing an alternative to plastic bags, we’re taking a small but significant step towards preserving our environment for future generations. Together, we can make a difference in protecting our planet.

As part of the Reading Day celebration, Anu Thomas took the stage to deliver a compelling talk on the importance of reading. With passion and eloquence, she emphasized how reading opens doors to knowledge, creativity, and personal growth. Through anecdotes and insights, Anu highlighted the transformative power of books in shaping perspectives and expanding horizons. Her engaging discourse inspired attendees to embrace reading as a lifelong habit, recognizing its profound impact on intellect and character development. The Red Team Hacker Academy organized a session on cybersecurity awareness, featuring Sajith Gopinath as the resource person. The session aimed to educate participants about the importance of cybersecurity in today’s digital landscape, highlighting common threats and best practices for staying safe online. Through interactive discussions and real-world examples, attendees gained valuable insights into protecting their personal and professional digital assets. In honor of Teachers’ Day, our department recently organized a heartfelt celebration to express gratitude and appreciation for our dedicated educators. The event was filled with warmth and admiration as students and staff came together to recognize the invaluable contributions of our teachers. From heartfelt speeches to thoughtful gestures of gratitude, the celebration was a meaningful expression of respect and admiration for the tireless efforts of our mentors. It was a joyous occasion where the bonds between students and teachers were strengthened, underscoring the importance of their guidance and mentorship in shaping our academic and personal growth.

During our association day, we were honored to have Dr. Ambily Merlin Kuruvilla as our chief guest, who delivered an enlightening talk on the mitigation of machine learning algorithms and their applications. Dr. Kuruvilla’s expertise shed light on the importance of understanding and addressing potential biases and risks associated with machine learning algorithms. Through insightful examples and practical insights, she emphasized the need for responsible and ethical deployment of these algorithms in various applications. Her talk provided valuable guidance on navigating the complexities of machine learning and highlighted strategies for ensuring fairness, transparency, and accountability in algorithmic decision-making processes. Azhchavattam, our college’s weekly program held every Monday, resembles a bustling bazaar, teeming with activity and excitement. This vibrant event serves as a platform for students and faculty to showcase their talents, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit. From handmade crafts to delectable snacks, the Azhchavattam offers a diverse array of goods and services, attracting eager shoppers and enthusiasts alike. With lively music filling the air and colorful stalls lining the campus, the atmosphere is always charged with energy and enthusiasm. It’s a cherished tradition that brings the college community together, fostering a sense of camaraderie and celebration as we kick off each week with joy and vibrancy.

As part of the Vykhari Lecture Series, our department organized an international seminar focusing on the topic of computer networking. The seminar was led by Ajith Francis Joy, an esteemed expert in the field. Attendees were treated to an insightful and engaging class, where they delved into the intricacies of modern computer networking technologies and practices. On International Yoga Day, Ms. Alisha Joy, an experienced instructor, led a rejuvenating yoga session with 33 eager participants. With grace and expertise, she guided the group through various asanas, promoting physical and mental well-being. Amidst serene surroundings, under Ms. Joy’s guidance, participants delved into the practice, finding balance and harmony within themselves. This celebration not only honored the ancient tradition of yoga but also fostered a sense of unity and tranquility among all participants.

The Live Lab Student Digital Initiative recently organized an interactive class at the Women’s Kudumbasree Ward No. 13 in Kumarakom, focusing on the versatile uses of smartphones. The session aimed to empower women with digital literacy skills, highlighting how smartphones can enhance daily life, from accessing information to managing finances and connecting with others. Through engaging activities and practical demonstrations, participants gained valuable insights into maximizing the potential of their smartphones for personal and professional growth. The initiative reflects a commitment to bridging the digital divide and fostering empowerment within the community.

Seniors organized a vibrant freshers’ event to warmly welcome the juniors. The event was filled with excitement and camaraderie as seniors extended a heartfelt greeting to the new members of the community. From icebreaker activities to insightful talks about campus life, the freshers were introduced to the vibrant culture and traditions of our institution. It was a memorable occasion where bonds were forged, and newcomers felt embraced by their senior counterparts, setting the stage for a fruitful and enriching academic journey ahead.

Our department celebrated Onam with great joy and festivity by organizing a special event. As part of the celebration, delicious payasam was distributed among students and faculty, symbolizing the sweetness and abundance of the harvest festival. Additionally, a vibrant pookalam  was intricately arranged, adorning the entrance of our department, adding to the festive ambiance. The distribution of payasam and the creation of the pookalam brought everyone together, fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie as we commemorated this cultural extravaganza

The inaugural function of the Association of Computer Science and Merit Day was a momentous occasion marked by celebration and recognition. With enthusiasm and pride, students and faculty gathered to commemorate the achievements of the department and honor outstanding academic accomplishments. The event featured inspiring speeches, acknowledging the dedication and hard work of students, as well as highlighting the significance of computer science in today’s world. Awards were bestowed upon deserving individuals for their academic excellence and contributions to the field. The Christmas Day celebration at our department was a merry affair filled with joy and festivity. Students and faculty came together to mark the occasion with a variety of entertaining activities. The day started with cheerful Christmas carols echoing through the halls, setting a festive mood. Dance performances showcased the talent and enthusiasm of our students, while lively songs added to the merry atmosphere. Games and competitions brought laughter and excitement, with everyone joining in the fun. Delicious treats and refreshments were enjoyed by all, adding to the spirit of goodwill and camaraderie. It was a memorable celebration that brought warmth and cheer to our department, spreading the joy of the holiday season.
