Inauguration of new student Amenity centre has been organised by commerce department on 6th December 2021 at 11:30 am.The presence of teachers of Commerce department, Father Alex Akkaparambil and Bursar Father Philmon kalathara made it more auspicious.
Teachers Day Celebration
As a part of Teachers Day ,Teachers Day Celebration 2021 was celebrated on 6th September Monday by the Department of Commerce.Teachers were honoured with a surprising skit,videos,wishes and they even shared their teaching memories and experiences in BCM College.
Department of Commerce in association with Central Depository Services Limited(CDSL) had conducted a webinar on 15th July 2021 which was led by N P Rajeev- resource person for CDSL IPF( Investor education ) on the topic “Financial planning and the role of depository in capital market”.
The Department of Commerce had conducted a debate on the topic “Crypto currency ;A bright future or just a fad?” Students had participated actively and discussed about the Pros and cons of Bitcoins. There was an open discussion atlast to share everyone’s ideas and to ask questions .Teachers after judgement selected the winner.
National Level Online Contest
‘Sense the Sensex 2022’
A virtual stock trading game has been organised in connection with Geojith by the Department of Commerce of BCM College,Kottayam as a part of National online level contest.Its training period is from 1st March to 31st March 2022.Students will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 3000 and Rs 2000 for the corresponding first and second price winners.
Doodle Art Competition
The Department of Commerce had conducted an Inter-department competition titled ‘Doodle Art Competition ' where participants are provided with a one week time till September 15 to submit their entries .Winners were provided with E- certificates .
Poster making competition
To commemorate International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking the Department of Commerce organised a Poster making competition on 26th June 2021. The competition was supervised in an online educational platform and the posters were sent to the respective judges for evaluation. The motive of this programme was to sensitize our youth and children who are often the silent victims of drug abuse..
A TALK ON WOMEN EMPOWERMENT ON MALALA DAY
On 12th July 2021 the department of commerce of BCM College conducted a talk on the topic 'Women empowerment on Malala Day' which honours the remarkable courage and movement made by Malala Yousafzai (Pakistani activist) to attain equality, freedom and right to education for women. The resource person Ms R J Renu delivered a speech in remembrance of the impassioned speech held at UN headquarters on gender equality by Malala Yousafzai.
The Commerce Department of BCM College had conducted an Inter Departmental Debate on the topic ‘Indian Education V/s International Education' on 6th December 2021. This debate was held with the participation of first year students of the department. It was so graceful and allowed a chance to the audience to participate and express their views in this regard..
