As part of Environmental Day celebration on 5 June 2021, the Department of Zoology conducted multifarious Inter-departmental & Inter-collegiate Competitions throughout the week with the motive to ‘Save the Earth for a bright future’. The competitions included Photography contest on ‘Nature Around You’, Best Out of Waste competition, Poster designing, Caption Writing, PowerPoint presentation on the topic ‘Ever-expanding Consumerism’, Pencil Drawing and Elocution competition on the topic ‘Save Lakshadweep’.

The department of zoology in association with IQAC of the college conducted an international webinar ‘on the role of indigenous people in environmental management’. Ms. Helina Jolly, Research fellow at the Institute for Resources Environment and Sustainability, University of British Columbia , Canada was the resource person. She is a Common Wealth Scholar, a National Geographic Explorer and has an M.Sc in Environmental Policy and Regulation from London School of Economics. The webinar was on the role of the indigenous community with special reference to kattunayakam community of wayanad in environmental sustainability. It was held on 19^th June 2020.
