Department of Zoology, BCM College, in collaboration with the Department of Zoology, GCK offered a visit to the District Vet. Hospital, Kottayam for enthusiastic students from non-science streams (MDC). The visit on 24h March 2025 was undertaken as part of an initiative to gain insights into the common pet diseases prevalent in the region and understand the healthcare services available for pets. The hospital, known for its dedicated veterinary care, plays a significant role in managing pet health and ensuring public awareness regarding animal welfare.
This visit provided valuable insights into the prevalence of pet diseases and the efforts taken by veterinarians to ensure animal welfare. With further improvements and support, the veterinary services can be strengthened to provide enhanced care for pets in the region.
